DESCRIPTION:
We were delighted when Centric Architecture commissioned a custom mural from us for their new office in North Nashville. They wanted a map of the bustling Buchanan St corridor where they're located that expressed both the energy and history of the neighborhood. We reimagined and reorganized the standard vocabulary of map markings into patterns and abstract compositions that span a 50 foot wall divided into 4 meeting rooms. We collaborated with the architects on the subtle identifiers placed at various points along the map to highlight historic places and geographical anchors. The resulting artwork, like Centric's own craft, is a study in precision, iteration, and spirit of place.
